Tips and Tricks for Photography

Spare your self from mediocre photos and start taking them like a pro. If you already bought a high-end camera and think that you can take perfect pictures, better think again. It is still up to your skill and your knowledge whether you get a good photo or not.
Here are some tricks and tips for photography:
Read the Manual
Before taking any photo, it is best to know your camera and its settings. Try to read the manual on the features such as shutter speed, flash distance, resolution setting and compression setting. You can increase the resolution and lower the compression settings to get quality pictures; but it can fill up the space of your memory card, so it would help if you buy a memory card with a huge capacity.
Know exposure and focus
All digital cameras have auto setting to detect the suitable exposure but it is not usually foolproof. In this situation, you can adjust the exposure compensation setting if you want a darker or brighter photo. The usual range is described as -2EV to +2EV. -1EV increases exposure creating brighter photos.
And like exposure, focus is also automatically set in the camera but again, it encounters problems too. This usually happens when the subject is not in the middle so the camera focuses on the background. If you don't want your subject at the middle and not compromise the quality, you can first set the focus on your subject and push the button halfway. Move to an angle that you want your photo to be in then push the button all the way.
Know the limitations of your flash
As mentioned above, know the flash effective distance of your flash. Usually, it can only reach a few meters. You don't want your subject to be farther away than that if you don't want to see only their silhouettes in the photo.
The beauty of the LCD VIEW Finder
Fortunately for amateur photographers, digital cameras are equipped with an LCD viewfinder. With this feature, you will be able to look at your pictures after taking them and see if they're worth to keep. You can then adjust the setting of your camera to have better pictures. You can experiment on different angles if you feel creative.
There are still lots to learn about digital photography and luckily, with today's technology and your understanding, you will be able to take professional photographs in no time.
